Arcelia and Raul live in Puerto Peñasco, México. They have been married for 21 years and they each have two adult children living on their own. Raul has worked as a security guard and has some construction experience, but they both have struggled to find steady employment. They manage to barely get by on Raul’s security pension. Arcelia has asthma which makes it difficult for her to be active for long periods of time. She is receiving treatment, which is an added financial burden for them. Arcelia and Raul have a land lot in Nuevo Peñasco, and are currently living in a small rented trailer which is on their lot. The trailer offers little security or protection from the elements. A house from 1MISSION would give them a home of their own, where Arcelia could live more comfortably with her health condition, and where they could both focus their limited resources on meeting their basic needs and create a more secure retirement. UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that the family is now living in their new house!
