Bikes Fight Poverty moves to the Valley!

March 2, 2024 • Buckeye, Arizona

This year Bikes Fight Poverty will be local! We’re bringing back the 100-mile ride while adding a shorter family-friendly ride as well.

Launching from Buckeye, Arizona, the 100-mile route will take us down the scenic Old Highway 80 south to Gila Bend, where we’ll have lunch before heading back.

It will be the most fun—and most meaningful—day you ever spend on a bike.

What To Expect

What to Expect

We’ll launch from Buckeye, Arizona, on Saturday morning, March 2, 2024. We will ride west to Old Highway 80 where we’ll take the scenic route through farmland to Gila Bend, crossing the Historic Gillespie Dam Bridge on the way. After a lunch stop at the aid station in Gila Bend, we’ll make our way back to Buckeye where friends and family will be waiting to cheer us across the finish line and celebrate with food trucks, bounce houses, and more!

Each rider will be free to move at a pace that is comfortable for them. We encourage riding with teams in pace groups. 1MISSION will provide Supply and Gear (SAG) vehicles, roaming medics, and aid stations along the route to provide maximum safety during the ride.

Legends are Bikes Fight Poverty’s VIPs. These riders think big. They make a lot of noise. And they back it up with action. By committing to raise at least $9,000, each Legend covers the cost to build an entire house for a family in poverty. Now that’s legendary! As our way of saying thanks, Legends get exclusive swag and other legend-worthy perks.
