Rocky Point Medical Clinic

Since 1996, when Dr. George Stavros and his wife, Susie Stavros provided their first medical clinic, Rocky Point Medical Clinic has been serving the medical needs of underserved patients in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico.

After 30 years of service, responsibility for overseeing and coordinating the clinics transitioned to 1MISSION. As an organization, we are honored to be a part of carrying on the Stavros’ legacy. 1MISSION’s community development programs have always focused on community health and prevention of disease, and Rocky Point Medical Clinic will complement those efforts.

Our goal is to provide care when no other resources are available to people in desperate need of medical care.

Rocky Point Medical Clinics is a partnership between 1MISSION, Words of Hope Ministry and other organizations and individuals with a desire to demonstrate God’s love by serving people in need.

We provide volunteer opportunities for medical professionals and translators willing to staff the medical clinics. Appointments with patients are made in advance to anticipate the services required at each clinic.

In 2025, over 3000 medical and dental appointments were conducted, including follow up visits. Additionally, many surgeries were performed including; hernia, cataract, knee and hip, cholecystectomy and hydrocelectomy.
